Finding The Right Business For You
If you think that starting your own business is the answer to your problems; whether it’s money, child care, illness or a desire for more free time, then you MUST choose wisely.
Too many individuals eagerly leave their paying jobs in order to pursue their own business only to return to the unemployment arena looking for work and carrying a massive debt from their ventures.
How can you find the answer to your quest for self-employment without failing?
DESIRE
DISCRETION
DISCIPLINE
DESIRE —-
If you think that running your own business is merely a matter of using your brains then you are sure to be disappointed. Successful entrepreneurs have a common thread no matter if they run the run a country gas station or a Fortune 500 company – DESIRE. If you don’t have the drive and determination to work for yourself – if you can’t give up the security of a regular pay cheque – you will have great difficulty working for yourself.
DISCRETION —-
Expect to fail. There are many opportunities available. Some are good, some are frauds and several are absolutely perfect – for YOU. Each individual’s strengths and talents will impact which business model will suit them best. If you are very shy or hate to talk to people than it would be wise to stay away from businesses that require a lot of face-to-face selling. If the product is not something you would personally use it is not something you will want to promote and that will show in your efforts.
Take stock of your abilities and interests and try several businesses that are related. Not all will suit you, but trying things will ultimately improve your business skills overall. If you do fall for what turns out to be a fraud, consider it education and move on – you will not likely make the same mistake again.
Consider talking to business owners who do what you want to do or to people who may use your product or service. Research the business and read the fine print!
DISCIPLINE —-
You don’t have a boss or a time clock, but if you expect to make a living then you will have to discipline yourself. Have a schedule that you follow every day. Plan your time wisely. Although many procrastinators actually do well working for themselves it is still vitally important to know what needs to be done and to have the discipline to follow through. A few bad jobs or unhappy customers can have lasting impact on your business.
Many have found great happiness and success working for themselves. Enjoy the search and find YOUR perfect business!
What Is A Pay Per Click Affiliate

What Is A Pay Per Click Affiliate
Originally most affiliate programs were pay per click affiliate programs where webmasters got paid to send people to an affiliate link. This would be most preferable to webmasters, just to get the potential customer to the website and get paid. Most affiliate programs have begun preferring cost per action because there is more profit to be made on their end. Finding pay per click affiliate programs has been harder to do but still not an impossible task.
It is understandable why pay per action affiliate programs would be preferred by many businesses. With pay per click, there is still a risk involved. You have to make sure that the title and ad itself is written in such a way that it meets all the website’s guidelines that can be pretty strict. You also have very limited space and you have to make sure that you have just the right keywords. If you happen to catch someone who isn’t exactly interested in what you are offering and they click through but don’t buy, you very well may have wasted that money.
They have to decide about how many click throughs convert into sales and that can be an pretty inexact science sometimes. Because of the risk and the potential cost involved and that smaller businesses may have a very limited advertising budget, they will often decide to go the much safer route and use an affiliate program in which they only pay for actual sales.
There are still pay per click affiliate programs to be found and most of them can be found in networks such as the Commission Junction. As with most affiliate programs, you will want to use networks such as that just so you can investigate what programs work and which ones do not. It will also help you keep track of clicks and payments received and will keep track of multiple sites for you.
The bulk of the pay per click affiliate programs are going to be things like online dating, casinos and other situations where they are likely to be making money off of anyone who comes to their site. If you can find a program like one of these that fits the type of site that you want to have or is something that you are comfortable with, then these pay per click affiliate programs are for you.
If you can work to get a lot of traffic to your website then pay per click affiliate programs can be incredibly profitable. Most accounts with affiliate marketing directories are free so there is very little cost involved there.
If you do decide to try a pay per click affiliate program you are going to have to work on getting a lot of traffic. The amount of money that you make per click is very small. In many cases it can be less than a dollar. In cases where there is a decent dollar amount per click ($5-10) there may be a high demand for people wanting that one so there could be a lot of people chasing after those few dollars that is in many advertising budgets.
It will take a lot of work to have a pay per click affiliate program that becomes successful but, as with everything else in internet marketing, the more you do it, the easier it becomes.

10 Necessities For A Home Based Business

10 Necessities For A Home Based Business
When you make the decision to earn income from the internet you will need to go through a set up process to be ready for business.
Following are the basic steps in setting up for home business success.
1. Attitude
The key to your business success is your attitude.
Treat your business like a business.
This is critical whether you are working part-time or full-time. One of my colleagues is a mother who works from home around her family. She has always put her family first whilst at the same time developing her business. She says, “I work part-time, but I have a full-time attitude.”
Put another way, “If you have a hobby attitude you will have a hobby income, if you have a business attitude you will have a business income.”
You can be successful working part-time and you can be successful working full-time but it is highly unlikely that you will be successful working in your “spare time”.
2. Working Environment
A space that you can call your own, free from distractions for your scheduled time.
A comfortable chair and organized desk.
Stationery supplies as required. For example:
- pens
- highlighters
- stapler
- hole punch
- sticky tape
- note book(s)
- a simple filing system
- ring binders
- manilla folders
Consider the value of a broadband connection. Your time is valuable and a broadband connection can allow you to get more done in a given time frame.
3. Schedule
Develop a schedule that works for you, your family (or “significant others”) and your business. When you allot a block of time for work then use that time for work. Equally important is to schedule time for your other commitments – family time, self education ( reading, listening and viewing), “health time” (exercise, cooking and eating), and leisure time. During these other times don’t work. After all if one of the reasons to work from home is to spend more time with your family then you don’t want your working at home time to consume your family time.
You are working for yourself and your schedule (by your choice) is your “boss”. When you have people calling you or dropping around unexpectedly or maybe out-of-town visitors may want to catch up with you then you need to make a choice. Are you committed to your own business success? What will be your choice in these situations? Only you can decide what is important to you.
In a family environment you may need to negotiate with your partner and children to have your business time agreed upon, during which you will not be interrupted. Put this schedule prominently somewhere so all family members are aware of your work schedule.
4. Describe Your Business
Be able to describe your business concisely; a powerful one or two sentence description that someone can repeat in describing your business to others. A unique and memorable tag line can also be invaluable for promoting your business.
5. Know Your Product or Service
Once you have selected your product or service to sell, it may or may not be something that you use yourself but you need to know your product intimately. If you are selling ebooks then know the content and its value. If you are selling software then use it know it “inside out”. You will develop a reputation of providing quality information and because of your product knowledge you can become the preferred supplier.
It is not practical to use certain products (for example a woman may choose to sell man’s shoes or vice versa) in which case the seller won’t be a product user, however the seller can still know the benefits and features of the product intimately.
6. Administration
Use good record keeping practices.
This may involve a consultation with a tax advisor who can let you know about the optimal way to set up your financial records and what records need to be kept. Your advisor will also recommend record keeping systems and you can find out what software may simplify this aspect of your business. Additionally your obtain advice on the best arrangement for your bank accounts. You will most likely be advised to have a separate bank account.
You will also need to keep track of your various logins, usernames and passwords. A very handy little software tool for this is Treepad available as either the free Lite version (without password protection) or the commercial Plus or Biz versions. http://www.treepad.com
There are other useful tools for this also from a simple paper notebook to free and commercial password keepers. One popular solution is Roboform that will remember your login details and can automatically fill out your login and other registration forms. http://www.roboform.com
7. Computer Protection
Your computer is the lifeline to your business dealings and must be protected including the data that is stored.
You need a virus scanner, personal firewall, anti-spyware and anti-adware and preferably an email scanner with the ability to delete suspect of spam email from the server before it is downloaded to your computer.
Some suggestions are:
AVG Anti-Virus: http://www.grisoft.com
Spybot S&D: http://www.safer-networking.org
Microsoft Anti-Spyware:
www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
Adaware: http://www.lavasoft.com/
Mailwasher Email Scanner: http://www.mailwasher.net
8. A Domain Name
You will most likely need a domain name for your business and one cost effective registrar is GoDaddy, http://www.godaddy.com.
9. Payment Processing
You will need a way to process credit cards; that may be using services such as:
- PayPal https://www.paypal.com
- Storm Pay http://www.stormpay.com
- 2 Checkout http://www.2checkout.com
- Clickbank http://www.clickbank.com or others.
This is the most economical way to get started. Once your business picks up you may need to look into your own merchant account for credit card transactions.
Consideration may also be given to other forms of online currency such as eGold http://www.egold.com
10. Email accounts
Once you have your own domain you can use an associated email account. This can further assist in the promotion of your business and promotes a more professional business image.
As a final comment on continuing in your internet business, conduct your business ethically, provide extraordinary service and be proud to put your name to the products or services that you are selling and you will be on track to developing a sustainable long term internet business.
How To Find Products For Affiliate Marketing

How To Find Products For Affiliate Marketing
So you are wanting to find products for affiliate marketing that will get your wallet full? That is what most people are wanting to do the tough thing is knowing what to sell. There are things that may get you excited about selling or you think are just great products for some niche that you are targeting but it may not do much for you. While it is important to focus on a product that you have an interest in so you can establish some credibility easily, there are some other things that you have to pay attention to. You want to find hot products for affiliate marketing? Look around.
If you want to know what to sell, look for the things that are selling good already. It may take a bit of research to find out what things will be good to offer as products for affiliate marketing.
First, you need to be able to identify and understand the need as well as understand how best to satisfy it. The customers you are wanting to offer products for affiliate marketing to have certain expectations and needs they would like to have met. It is your job to find these out and make it available.
The needs that the consumer has is the bare minimum that they must have in the product or service. It is the cake. The icing on the cake would be the expectations that they have. It is the extras. A need would be a car. An expectation is that it would have good gas mileage. A need would be to lose weight. Being happy while doing it would be an expectation. For many, finding a program that will help them stop smoking would be a need but the expectation would be the price. The need has to be addressed fully and the expectation should be met if at all possible. That could make the difference between getting and losing a sale.
Another thing that you have to consider when looking for products for affiliate marketing is the level of competition that your particular product has in the marketplace. Look at the overall market and see if you have a legit chance of being competitive. See how your product competes with others in the niche.
When looking for good products for affiliate marketing you need to gauge the level of interest in that niche. Is it a big market? Is it a buying market? How much are they willing to spend and does your product or service fit in that range?
Also, look at the level of success that others are having selling that product/service. When you are trying to find a good product for affiliate marketing, you want to sell something that people are actually having some success with. If the level of sales are high and/or climbing, then you may have something worth putting your energies into. If sales are stagnating or tapering off, it would be worth it to look elsewhere as demand may be dropping for some reason or the marketplace has reached the peak of interest that they will have in it.
Just because you have a product that seems like it will sell incredibly well doesn’t mean that it will. When wanting to break into a niche, make sure that you do good research on products for affiliate marketing so you will have success.

Starting From Scratch Article Marketing 101
Article Marketing 101
Your guide to writing great articles that will get noticed, read, and get them to go where you want them to go.
This may seem like a daunting task but, after following some simple guidelines, you will find it quite easy to do. It will take work and some time to make it happen but after a while it will all come quite naturally to you. It all revolves around choosing the right keywords, having a clear purpose in mind when you start writing, and making sure you answer the right questions. It will also let the reader know that you are an authority on the subject matter and will ive them a reason and opportunity to take the action you wish them to take.
Article Marketing 101.1 Planning the article.
Having the right keyword or keyword phrase is crucial to the success of your article writing. Research what keywords would most appeal to your target market. Proper use of keywords will get you noticed quicker on search engines and help you get a higher ranking.
Plan the reason for the article and identify it’s purpose. Keep this purpose in mind with everything that you do.
Gather as much information about the subject as you can and make yourself knowledgeable. Realize that your target audience may have people who have researched the subject extensively already. Even though you may not be able to share much information that they don’t already have, they will know if you really do know your material. Make sure that your research is good and up to date.
Find out what questions are likely to be asked and answer them. Find out who, what, where, why, when, and how. Ask the right and pertinent questions and give the right answers.
Article Marketing 101.2 Writing the article introduction and opening.
Have an eye catching title that will stand out among all the others the reader is likely to have available. Write a strong opening paragraph that that will make the reader want to keep reading and that will let the reader know what it is they should know at the end of the article. The introduction and opening should be short and to the point.
Article Marketing 101.3 Writing the body of the article.
In the body of the article answer the questions that you found. Use your keywords throughout the article to make it easier to find, but don’t do too much. As a rule use your keyword once for every 100 words. Don’t use much in the way of technical jargon and abbreviations. Use what research you gathered citing sources where necessary. Always write from your target market’s vantage point and try to write at their level.
Article Marketing 101.4 The call to action.
This is the point of the whole article. Everything that you have done should have led them to this moment. This is where you ask or tell the reader that they should click on the link that you provide or go to the place you want them to go. Don’t assume that they will just go, give them a reason and tell them what is on the other side is something that they are really going to want to see. Once you have done this and learned to do it effectively, you will find your chances of success growing by leaps and bounds.

I really need some network marketing tips for the internet. How do I reach people without spamming anyone?

I am a consultant for a very reputable company founded by very reputable people. The products are very quality skincare, makeup, and health products. I cannot seem to find the right method to reach businesses, or entrepreneurs, such as skin salons or makeup artists. Anyone have any ideas to promote this business online. All ideas are welcome. Please help me brainstorm this.
Call or visit five potential customers each day and ask them to register for your upcoming beauty news newsletter or entry into a contest for a $50 Amex gift card. That will give you up to 100 email addresses per month (1200 per year). Your mission needs to be getting sales not getting clicks on your website so make sure you have the right products at the right price at the right time. Offer samples. Let the products sell themselves. Ask if you can set up a folding table in their stores for 4 hours on one day to give samples and demonstrate your products to their customers. Create buzz. There’s alot of competition in the industry. Get to know the buyers personally through frequent contact without stalking. When you see an article of interest make a copy and mail it with a little post it note saying, "thought you’d appreciate this" and sign your name and phone # or attach a business card. You may want to write an article of your own and make it look published. Relate it back to your company. Write about a new product or some kind of press release. Have you taken on any new clients worth bragging about??? Follow up with buyers… a no today could be a yes in 3 months. Get some postcards printed (vistaprint) and mail out quarterly. Your marketing efforts are tax deductible. Take a buyer to lunch once in awhile and ask about their business, trends, fears, joys, etc. Partner with comparable businesses to share leads. Talk to dermatologists and fitness clubs to get your product name to the end users who in turn will ask for your products by name. Imagine when a couple people a day go to the drug store asking for XYZ brand cosmetics??? Get your name out there. Be the "go to" person for the industry. Don’t work hard… work smart.
